Resolutions of Tokyo meeting

 

1. FIPA appoints Dr. Kazumasa Enami (NHK) as Director.

2. FIPA thanks the companies which have helped identify the FIPA 1997 applications by submitting contributions to this meeting (FIPA6a05)

3. FIPA thanks those who have offered their expertise and time to produce its First Call for Proposals, in particular the Chairs of the ad-hoc groups established in Tokyo:

- Manuel Aparicio (IBM)
- Ian Dickinson (HP)
- Yeun-Bae Kim (NHK)
- David Sadek (France Telecom - CNET)
- Donald Steiner (Siemens)
- Tony Wasilewski (Scientific Atlanta).

4. FIPA adopts the following applications to be used as target for the development of the FIPA 1997 specification:

5. FIPA approves its First Call for Proposals.

6. The Board of Directors will provide a proposal of IPR policy concerning FIPA specification for consideration by the General Assembly in January 1997.

7. FIPA approves its 2-year workplan

8. Participation in future meetings will be restricted to FIPA members. Respondents to the First FIPA Call for Proposals will be invited to attend the January '97 meeting to enable them to introduce their proposals.

9. The Chairman would like to express his most sincere thanks to those who actively contributed to the discussions and the drafting of the First FIPA Call for Proposals. It is through their endeavours that his assessment of a range of agent technologies reaching maturity could be confirmed and his proposal of developing specifications of generic agent technologies could be converted into a practically implementable plan of work.
