Main results of London meeting
The process of establishment of FIPA is in full swing. The first meeting has
been held on 18-19 April 1996 at the Imperial College, London, UK c/o Prof. E H Mamdani,
with support from British Telecom Labs. Click here for a photographic tour of the London meeting.
The first meeting has
- agreed on the need and desirability to establish FIPA,
- approved the general operational
principles,
- approved a first draft of the statutes,
- approved the draft workplan
given above
- identified a first list of agent capabilities that
are candidate for specification in the near term (by end of 1997)
- agreed to hold the next meeting in
Yorktown, NY, USA, c/o IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, as a workshop on
24-26 June, with the main goal of refining thelist of
specification items that are believed to be achievable in 1997 and a first
identification of those items that will actually be specified in that time
frame.
- agreed to hold the third meeting in October 1996, ideally
in Asia. Purpose of this meeting will be to install
Technical Committees and to draft a Call for Proposals
for agent technologies to be specified by the first work
item.
